ECOWAS Regional Cybersecurity Hackerlab Challenge (Benin)

It is in this perspective that the ECOWAS Commission, within the framework of its project “Organised Crime: West Africa’s Response on Cybersecurity and the Fight against Cybercrime (OCWAR-C)” funded by the European Union, is co-organising with bjCSRIT from 10 to 12 October 2022 in Cotonou (Benin), the ECOWAS Hackerlab edition.

The main objective of this regional cybersecurity competition is to identify talent and support young people in the field of technology in order to create a stable cyber workforce in the region.
The Hackerlab competition will take place in the form of a ‘salvo’ Capture the Flag (CTF) competition, with teams of participants being asked to complete several challenges.
For this Capture the Flag (CTF) competition :
– the challenges will be information security tasks;
– the teams will be composed of participants from the Member States.

This competition is aimed at :
– Target groups: Students, cybersecurity enthusiasts and cybersecurity professionals
– Age range: 18 to 35 years old
– Teams: maximum 4 persons.

Each Member State will participate in the pre-selection competition at national level to select the best team to represent their country at the regional event. The pre-selection competition will run from 1 to 31 August 2022 and is open to as many national teams as possible.
